Rhododendron zoelleri 'Decimus'

Originally collected by van Steenis in 1955 in the Wissel Lakes area of W. New Guinea, this clone
was exhibited by Kew in 1973 as 'Decimus' and given an Award of Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society.

The clone 'Island Sunset' was raised by Don Stanton from seed collected on Goodenough Island,
off the east coast of Papua New Guinea, and was registered in 1972.

Epithet - after Heinrich Zollinger, 1818-1859, Swiss botanist who collected this species.
