Flower funnel-shaped to funnel-campanulate, about 2" across, deep red to light pink, bicolored or white, with sparse red spotting. Compact truss holds 12-20 flowers. Often blooms in December.

Leaves elliptic, oblong or oblanceolate, 5" to 7" long, dull, mid to dark green with thin indumentum. Variable habit. One of the oldest hybrids from about 1835.
