ALTHOUGH WE ARE WHOLESALE, COURTESIES ARE EXTENDED TO ALL ARS MEMBERS
Van Veen Nursery is a specialty
wholesale nursery established in 1926 by Theodore Van Veen Sr. It is known
worldwide for the outstanding quality of its rhododendrons and azaleas.
Ted Van Veen Jr. took over the nursery in 1961 and wrote the book "Rhododendrons in
America". He also authored "Rhododendrons You Should Meet". This is
a description of over 500 varieties of rhododendron grown here at the nursery.
Kathy Van Veen is the nursery's 3rd generation owner. She is an expert in propagation.
All Van Veen rhododendrons are cutting grown. They have large vigorous
root balls because they are grown in open benches rather than in pots.
Yearlings (also known as liners) are small plants with vigorous roots,
guaranteeing a good start to a finished plant.
Tired of doing your own propagation? Have a hard-to-root variety? Or
a special rhododendron you would like to start? Send the cutting to us and
we will do the rooting for you.
Our prices list is detailed and informative, featuring over 500 rhododendron
hybrids, as well as species and azaleas. Please visit our website at
We offer "Rhododendrons in America", "Rhododendrons You Should Meet", "The
Pacific Coast Rhododendron Story" and other helpful books. See our price
list for complete descriptions and prices.
